Dying Gaul Hellenistic Warrior Sculpture - TAL489X
Dying Gaul Hellenistic Warrior Sculpture, celtic torque, hellenistic warrior roman, celtic museum reproductions, greek art, museum store statues

Alternative Views:

Honor this valiant Celtic warrior with a soft prayer as you mourn him slowly slipping away. He has fought bravely in the Gauls' fifty-year war with the Greeks without armor and wearing only a Celtic torque around his neck. From the Capitoline Museum, Rome, this sculpture is a Roman copy after a Hellenistic bronze original of the 3rd century BC.

Made from bonded white marble with a solid black marble base, imported from Italy.

Available in two sizes:
Medium: 9inW x 3.5inD x 6inH, 3.8 lbs. / *retired no longer available*
Large: 12inW x 5inD x 7inH, 9.4 lbs (pictured). / *retired no longer available*

The large statue is pictured. The small one is the same with a little less detail because of the reduced size.

Dying Gaul Statue August 4, 2013
Reviewer: bernard thompson from Sydney, nsw Australia
The original "larger size" was out of stock. I believe the "site" should have been marked "not available" for this item..very irritating.

This caused a delay of several weeks in shipping after I agreed to the "smaller version" statue (The E Mail re switching to this version did warn me the "detail" on this version was not as good).

Overall I felt the quality and "plaster of paris Like" finish and small size VERY disappointing. I believe the statue will be very difficult to keep clean with this lower standard finish. I have no objection to the level of "detail".

Regards  Bernie Thompson
