Bookends for your library! On piers flanking the entry to his 1898 architectural studio in Oak Park, Illinois, architect Frank Lloyd Wright envisioned two sculptures of a solid, crouching figure of a man. For this majestic figure, he turned to sculptor Richard Bock. The Boulder -- here reproduced as a pair of bookends -- symbolizes the struggle of the oppressed and shackled soul to break its bonds and find self expression. These pieces are faithfully reproduced from the original designs. Each of this pair of Boulder Bookends is hand cast in reconstituted stone and mounted on a sandstone block, padded on the bottom to protect furniture. Licensed by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.

Cast in reconstituted stone, 8 in H x 5.5 in W x 5.5 in L each. Weight 18 lbs.
