THOMAS JEFFERSON
(April 13, 1743 - July 4, 1826):
As author of the Declaration of Independence, President of
the United States, philosopher, historian, attorney, founder of the
University of Virginia and plantation owner, Thomas Jefferson did more
for his country than any other public servant in American history. He
loved his home, the estate of Monticello, and enjoyed the simple life
of a farmer as much as the celebrated life as a head of state. He's one of the US forefathers and an American hero.
