Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni,(March 6, 1475 Ð February 18, 1564), commonly known as Michelangelo, was an Italian Renaissance painter, sculptor, architect, poet, and engineer. Despite making few forays beyond the arts, his versatility in the disciplines he took up was of such a high order that he is often considered a contender for the title of the archetypal Renaissance man, along with his rival and fellow Italian Leonardo da Vinci. This museum reproduction of Bacchus (Dionysos) Standing, the Greek and Roman God of Wine, is adapted from a Michelangelo original (1497) which is one of his least known works. Bacchus is shown holding drinking cup with a cherub tugging at some grapes by his legs. The original was created in white marble but our reproduction enhances it in a bronze metal finish with light purple coloring on the grapes. It is very nicely sculpted!

Bacchus Holding Drinking Cup After Michelangelo is made from resin and bronze powder, light color details and measures 10"H x 4"W x 3"D.
