# Dubout Cats with Many Kittens Sleeping on Gold and Red Fancy Bed Figurine Statue 8.5L

## A Royal Nap for a Whole Family of Cats

This **Dubout kittens bed figurine** is a crowd of cats sleeping together in a precious gold frame bed. It measures 8.5 in L x 6.5 in W x 5.1 in H in resin with hand painted details.

The bed is gold and red, and it looks fit for a king. The sleepers on it are each only about 1.5 to 2 in long.

**Albert Dubout** drew the original. Parastone recreated the illustration as a figurine, with little whiskers on the cats.

## The Largest Dubout in the Collection

This is one of the largest and most intricate figurines in the Dubout Cats Statue Collection. It is a large Dubout cat figurine with room for many small characters.

Look closely at the heap of Dubout sleeping cats on the bed. Each one has its own sprawl, which is the sort of detail Dubout loved.

## Gold Frame, Funny Business

A gold frame cat bed is a fine joke, because cats treat every bed as their own throne. The ornate frame makes the sleepers look even more pleased.

Dubout drew crowds with a steel nib and a magnifying glass, so a bed full of sleepers suits him. ## Display and Care

At 2.3 lbs, the Dubout kittens bed figurine needs a firm shelf, mantel, or table. Dust it with a soft dry brush, and take care around the small cats and whiskers.

## Albert Dubout in Brief

Dubout was born in Marseille in 1905 and studied at the fine arts school in Montpellier. His first drawings appeared in a student journal in 1923. He drew for Paris magazines such as Le Rire and illustrated Rabelais and Balzac. He also designed posters and theatre sets.

He received the Legion of Honour in 1953 and died in 1976. A museum in his name opened in Palavas-les-Flots in 1992. The Dubout kittens bed figurine shows how he filled a scene.
