### Cedar and Mummification

Cedar oil appears in accounts of Egyptian embalming. Herodotus and Diodorus mention it, and it served for injection and anointing.

An exhibit at the University of Illinois notes that it was likely made from juniper. Juniper does not grow in Egypt, so importation is likely.

### Resins and Woods

True resins came from the eastern Mediterranean. Sources include the cedar of Lebanon, Cilician fir and Aleppo pine.

This blend sits on that old trade, and its mummification wood scent nods to it. Browse more in our [Museumize incense collection](https://www.museumize.com/collections/fragrance-incense-sticks).

### The Blend

Tangerine and lime sharpen the cedar. Patchouli adds a dark, earthy base. This tangerine lime fragrance stays crisp.

### Burning and Care

Burn it in a ventilated room on a proper holder. Never leave burning incense unattended, and keep it away from children and pets.

Burn this Egyptian cedar incense for a mummification wood scent. It serves as a cedar wood scent and a tangerine lime fragrance. Fans of a cedar wood scent will enjoy it.

### About the Mythos Collection
