### Hemp in the Papyri

Ancient Egyptian papyri mention medical cannabis. The Ebers Papyrus dates to about 1550 BC, and the Berlin Papyrus to 1300 BC.

The Ramesseum III Papyrus, about 1700 BC, also records the plant. These ancient papyri herbs show how much the Egyptians knew of plants.

### Medicine on the Nile

Egyptologist Lise Manniche notes references to the plant in several texts. One text dates to the 18th century BCE.

Remedies named it for sore eyes and for easing pain. Find more in our [Museumize incense collection](https://www.museumize.com/collections/fragrance-incense-sticks).

### The Scent

This Nile herbaceous scent is green and dry. It reads as green rather than sweet.

### Burning and Care

Burn it in a ventilated room on a proper holder. Never leave burning incense unattended, and keep it away from children and pets.

Burn this Egyptian hemp incense for an exotic hemp fragrance. It serves as a Nile herbaceous scent and recalls ancient papyri herbs. Fans of an exotic hemp fragrance will enjoy it.
