## The Story Behind the Eric Hare Wall Mount

Eric began in a storybook. Artist **Jessica Hiemstra** wrote Eric and Eloise, a tale of unlikely friendship between a fox and a hare. The Eric + Eloise Collection launched in 2017. It started as a holiday offering. It has since grown into a year-round collectible series with a whole cast of characters. Eloise, the quiet and quirky fox, was inspired by Hiemstra's cousin, Sarah Bagle, who shaped the collection with her.

## A Wink at the Hunting Lodge

For centuries, a mounted animal head on the wall signaled rank in manor halls and hunting lodges. Eric borrows that formal pose. This **Eric hare wall hanging** gives it a gentler purpose. He is no trophy. He is a portrait of character, and charming hare wall decor. This Jessica Hiemstra wall art has a monocle and a lifted chin. He recalls a proper gentleman in a formal photograph. Fans of [animal art](https://www.museumize.com/collections/animal-art) will enjoy his wit.

## Dressed Animals and Victorian Whimsy

Animals in human dress have a long history in European taste. In the 1800s, taxidermists such as Hermann Ploucquet and Walter Potter posed animals in clothing and everyday scenes. Ploucquet's tableaux even included a hare named Jack Hare. Visitors adored the humor. Eric and Eloise decor keeps that tradition alive. Eric carries the same playful spirit. He is cast metal, a hare wall mount made for your wall rather than a museum case.

## The Woodland Crew Beside the Eric Hare Wall Mount

Eric belongs to a charming cast of Eric and Eloise decor. Eloise is a bespeckled fox. Eugene is a monocled moose, and Frankie is a pipe-smoking buck. Charlie is an aviator duck, and Beatrice is a friendly-faced bear. Emerson is a top-hatted pheasant. Margie is a scarf-adorned doe, and Louie is a bow-tied mouse. As Eric and Eloise decor, the collection celebrates friendship across differences. A quirky woodland crew finds belonging in one another. Each character has its own accessory and its own personality, so the cast invites collecting.

## Hanging Your Eric Hare Wall Mount

This Eric hare wall mount has a keyhole slot on the back for hanging. At 9 lb, he should hang from a wall stud or a rated anchor. Jessica Hiemstra wall art like this suits an entry hall, a library or a powder room. His antique gold tone looks lovely against deep green or navy walls. Dust the hare wall decor with a soft dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could dull the finish.
