## A Cover That Never Ran

Wright designed March Balloons around 1926 and 1927. It was one of twelve monthly covers for Liberty magazine. The editors judged the set too radical, and it was never published.

Wright drew the circles with a T-square, triangle, and compass. The March Balloons tote bag gives that rejected cover a second life.

## A Design That Kept Travelling

Apprentices at Taliesin later copied the covers to practice drafting. Wright adapted March Balloons as a rug for his son David's house in Arizona around 1950.

Fabrics from the Schumacher company followed in 1955. A design for paper became a pattern for rugs and textiles. This recycled foldable tote continues that journey.
