# Unity Temple Geometric Brown Rust with Stand Stained Glass by Frank Lloyd Wright 10H

## Unity Temple Window Stained Glass: Brown, Rust, and Yellow

**Frank Lloyd Wright** drew this abstract pattern for a window at Unity Temple. This **Unity Temple window stained glass** glows in brown, rust, and yellow glass. It reads as old world America meeting twentieth century geometry.

Unity Temple stands in Oak Park, Illinois. The congregation commissioned Wright to design it in 1905. Wright treated the windows as part of the room's structure. Every Frank Lloyd Wright Unity Temple window shows this care.

The [Unity Temple geometric stained glass](/products/unity-temple-skylight-stained-glass) patterns are quiet and orderly. Rust and yellow warm the browns, like late afternoon light.

## Light Screens in Earth Tones

Wright called his glass designs light screens, a term that evokes Japanese shoji screens. They shaped light as much as they decorated. This Frank Lloyd Wright Unity Temple window follows that idea. This Unity Temple geometric stained glass piece suits any bright wall.

Wright created leaded glass for doors, skylights, ceilings, lamps, and sconces. See more in our [Frank Lloyd Wright stained glass collection](/collections/stained-glass-collection). Frank Lloyd Wright art glass like this rewards a long look.

## Frank Lloyd Wright in Brief

Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) was born in Wisconsin and trained under Louis Sullivan in Chicago. In his Oak Park studio he developed the Prairie style, with low horizontal lines and open interiors. He designed buildings as whole environments, down to the furniture, textiles, and art glass. He created well over 4,000 leaded glass windows and doors, which he called light screens. His later work includes Fallingwater and the Guggenheim Museum, and his influence reaches far beyond architecture.
