## A Garden Made to Be Painted

Monet rented a house at Giverny in 1883 and bought it in 1890. In 1893 he added land and shaped it into a water garden.

From the late 1890s until 1926, he painted that pond about 250 times. The Water Lilies tote bag holds one small piece of that obsession.

## A Gift to France

From 1914 Monet worked on huge canvases in a new studio. Eight of them were arranged in two oval rooms at the Orangerie in Paris, which opened in 1927. He offered them to France after the Armistice of 1918.

Smarthistory notes that Monet paints the water's surface and removes any horizon. You float inside the pond. This recycled foldable tote offers a quiet version of that feeling. ## Care and Storage

This Water Lilies tote bag uses recycled GREEN CIRCLE fabric that is water-resistant. Hand washing preserves the coating. Machine washing at 86 degrees F / 30 degrees C is fine in a washing bag.

When you are done, fold the Monet tote bag into its zippered pouch. Hang it by the handle or store it flat. Keep the museum tote bag out of long, direct sun to protect the print. Wipe the recycled foldable tote with a damp cloth between washes.

Display the Water Lilies tote bag on a hook when you are home. Gift the Monet tote bag to a friend who loves museums. Pick the museum tote bag for your next gallery visit. The recycled foldable tote also makes a thoughtful present.
