Our Black and Red Tattoo Sugar Skull Day of the Dead is an adaptation of a very popular tradition in Mexican culture. During the Day of the Dead (dia de los muertos) celebration in early November, families make skull statues out of sugar and decorate them with elaborate patterns, bright colors and colorful papers. They take them to grave sites to decorate in celebration of their deceased family members. It is part of the entire festivities which celebrate life and death as a renewal.The sugar skull is a strong symbol used widely in popular culture seen in tattoo artwork, clothing, jewelry and paintings.

This black and red tattoo sugar skull statue is made from resin and is decorated with red roses, black spider webs, and a red spider between the eyes. Decorations are present on all sides. Sugar skull measures: L: 5" x W: 3.25" x H: 3.25".
