Faberge Byzantine Double-Headed Eagle Pin / PendantPN# 4039
The clasp on Carl Faberge's famous cigarette case (see original pictured; 1846-1920) of a Double-Headed Eagle, was inspired by the ancient Byzantine eagle emblem. This symbol was adopted by the Romanov's as their dynastic symbol in 1613. This reproduction of the clasp now in the New Orleans Museum of Art is here reproduced as a pin / pendant. Pin (1.75"W x 2.2"H) is made from 24K gold plated pewter and comes with a 24K gold plated 16" chain and provenance card. Original artwork not included.
