Ceramic Flower Vase with Kandinsky's Counter Gravitation abstract painting by artist Wassili Kandinsky (1866-1944). Kandinsky is considered one of the founders and the most important theoretician in abstract art and the avant-garde. Inspired by Arnold Schonberg's atonal music, he devised his influential color theory in which he argued that every color speaks its own language, with its own shapes and soul.

Counter Gravitation -- a series of geometric circles and squares cut into smaller shapes of color. Set against a black background, the multicolor shapes seem to dance in rhythm.

  • Art vase is made from kiln-fired ceramic, color and gloss finish. (PN SDA45)
  • Shape is oval.
  • Measures 9.5 in H x 4 in W x 2.75 in D. Weight 1.75 lbs.

This vase is part of an art vase collection called Silhouette d'Art. It is crafted from fine ceramic and decorated with a famous masterpiece painting. Vases are a cooperative effort between two European fine art manufacturers -- Parastone, a Dutch Art Company, and John Beswick, a British ceramic company. The famous art masterpieces are selected for their visual beauty and then applied to a special shaped vase design with a cut edge to enhance a design element from the painting.
