Islamic Palm Tree Geometric Teardrop Shape Pendant Necklace 2LPN# 7222
This Islamic pendant was recreated from one of the oldest examples of Islamic jewelry. The main design consists of a realistic palm trunk that supports a stylized tree bearing half-palmettes and trefoils. In the center is a heart-shaped unit enclosing a pair of birds with half palmette wings.
The composition of the piece indicated that it belongs to the early Islamic Period. Syria(?) 8th century A.D.
From the treasures of Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah, Kuwait National Museum.
- Made from 24 Karat gold-plate over pewter. Includes a 18 inch L gold-plate chain.
- Pendant measures 2 in L x 1 1/8 in W.
