Sandro Botticelli (c. 1445-1510, Italian Renaissance)
Botticelli worked for the Medici's and was commissioned by Pope Sixtus IV to decorate the Sistine Chapel. His reputation was in decline for many years until his rediscovery in the late 19th century.
