Afternoon Tea Party Mini Teapot by Mary Cassatt 4H -
Reviving the 17th-century English tradition of painting on enamel, this miniature teapot has a reproduction of Mary Cassatt's Afternoon Tea Party drypoint and aquatint print 1890-1891. Two women from the 19th century sit together and have a conversation while drinking cups of tea. Mary Cassatt (American, 1845-1926) was friendly with the French Impressionists and is often associated with their style, but with a more domestic them as she often painted scenes of women around the household.
For the past few years, these highly collectible teapots have captured the hearts of collectors for their adorable hand painted and glazed details. They are signed as part of the Kelvin Chen collection of mini teapots. They pay tribute to masterpiece artists from the 19th and 20th century.
Made from porcelain, hand painted enamel on all sides, hinged lid, decorative use only, approx. 4 inches H x 2 in D. Weighs 0.4 lbs. (PN 6136)
