Our Day of the Dead Aztec Skull is an adaptation of a celebration called Day of the Dead (dia de los muertos). The art associated with this ritual originates from Aztec and early Mexican eras and is characterized by images of skeletons, skulls, and folkloric costumes. One of the things that families make during this celebration are skull statues that are made from sugar and are decorated with elaborate patterns. After the sugar skulls are made they are taken to grave sites to decorate the graves in celebration of their deceased family members. Skull masks are also worn as a tribute to death and rebirth. This is part of the entire festivities which celebrates life and death as a renewal.

Decorations are present on all sides of the Aztec skull. Made from resin, hand-painted color, and measures 6.75"H x 5.5"W x 8"D.
