Egyptian Obelisk Statue for Table Top Impressive Large Size 26.5H -
Egyptian Obelisks are tall, slender four sided shafts carved from a single stone and topped with a point known as a pyramidion. They were typically inscribed with the names and titles of the king who commissioned them.
Through the years, customer have asked for a larger Obelisk -- and this one delivers! It measures a memorable 26 1/2 inches tall, home decor quality resin, with a historical bronze finish. It creates quite an impression on a desk, library cabinet or as a centerpiece on a dining table. I'm looking forward to adding a pair to my living room at home. The casting is not perfect, but it is well done for the price. See the detail views I took from my desk -- Nina, Curator

Obelisks were known to the ancient Egyptians as Tekhenu. Obelisks were considered to be sacred to the Sun God Ra, whose main center of worship was at Heliopolis where the oldest surviving monumental obelisk in Egypt still stands. Obelisks were first erected at Heliopolis and the practice was continued throughout the pharaonic period. Some small squat obelisks survive from the early years of dynastic Egypt when they usually stood in pairs before the entrances to the tombs.
