Wright was so taken by the piece that he commissioned a second plaster version to be placed at his Taliesin estate in Spring Green, Wisconsin, where it continues to reside, although it has been relocated from the garden since Mr. Wright's time to a more protected location. Poem on back of sculpture by Alfred Lord Tennyson: Flower in the crannied wall, I pluck you out of the crannies, I hold you here, root and all, in my hand, little flower but if I could understand what you are, root and all, and all in all, I should know what God and man is.
