Minoan Snake Goddess Pewter Pendant Charm Necklace -
This pendant shows a Priestess of the religion of the ancient Minoan people of Knossos, who flourished about three and a half millennia ago. Bare breasted, wearing long gowns and aprons, snakes spiral up the arms of the Snake Goddess.
She is the priestess; the medium between the Earth and the people. These may have been the first temple priestesses in the western world, and they were the spiritual leaders in a time when no one thought to own land, the most sacred act was giving birth, and money had not yet been invented.
