Three Graces Greek Wall Relief for Garden 16H - 68903 -
This reproduction is based on an original Hellenistic period wall relief sculpture of the Three Graces, constant companions of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. The original (c. 1st century BC) is on permanent display in the Louvre Museum, Paris. The Three Graces of Greek mythology, also called Charities, were young, beautiful, and modest. They personified the graceful sensuousness of the female form. In this relief the articulation of the figures conveys a naturalism typical of the sculpture of the Hellenistic Age that distinguishes it from the more idealized Greek prototypes.
