Venus Holding Cupid Her Son Statue, Bronze Finish - T1768 -

  • 60.00 USD

In Greek and Roman mythology, Venus (Aprodite) was the mother of Cupid (Eros) with her husband Mars. In this loving statue, Venus hold Cupid with one arm and strokes under his chin with the other. It is an endearing gesture of a mother with child. Little Cupid, yet a child, seems to respond as a young boy -- pleased that his mother is stroking him yet also wishing the moment would pass and he can regain his independence. It is a lovely ancient tribute to a mother and son here taken from two of the most beloved and frequently illustrated characters from ancient mythology.

Venus Holding Cupid Her Son Statue is made from cold cast bronze, light color details and measures 8.5H.
