Gargoyles and Dragons

In architecture, a gargoyle is a carved stone grotesque animal spirit with a spout designed to convey water away from the side of a building. But to art lovers, a gargoyle is a mythical winged dog beast who snarls from roof tops to scare away evil. Gargoyles have many personalities -- menacing, pensive or goofy. We look for a variety of Gargoyle statues, small and large. Some of the most famous gargoyles appear in the architecture at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and other gothic churches from the middle ages.
