Material Bronze Finish

What does Bonded Bronze and Bronze Finish mean when describing a statue? When a statue has a bronze finish, it looks like a bronze metal statue but is much more affordable. These days, bronze finishes are applied in two ways: bonded bronze and bronze paint.

Bonded bronze is the process of mixing resin with bronze powder to give the statue a look of metal. Also, the exterior of the statue may have a thin bronze plating. Bronze finish is the process of hand painting a bronze finish over resin, stone or plaster. Generally bonded bronze will look more like an actual bronze metal piece than bronze finish. Neither will look exactly like a lost wax bronze metal statue when placed alongside it. But then bonded bronze statues and bronze finish sculptures are often one tenth the price of lost wax bronze metal.
