A Ring of Rocky Worlds

Between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter lies the Asteroid Belt. Its pieces range from dust to the dwarf planet Ceres.

This rock formed during the birth of our solar system. A meteorite from the belt teaches us how our corner of space came to be.

Three Rocks, One Asteroid

HED stands for howardite, eucrite and diogenite. Measurements from the Dawn probe confirm that all three come from Vesta.

The howardite eucrite diogenite mix here includes famous falls such as Johnstown, Millbillillie and Tatahouine. Each Vesta meteorite is sealed in resin and polished.

Display and Care

Keep the Asteroid Belt HED meteorite in its jar and case. Wipe the resin with a soft cloth.

About the Disk

The workshop reduces the meteorites to small fragments and seals them in resin. The disk is then polished. A meteorite resin disk like this shows real space rock in a form you can display.
