The Camembert of Time
Dali painted The Persistence of Memory in 1931, when he was twenty-eight. It is tiny, only 9.5 x 13 in, yet packed with fine detail.
He said the soft watches came from the sight of Camembert melting in the sun. He even called them the camembert of time. The Dali tote bag carries that witty image.
Dream Logic on a Quiet Beach
A sleeping, fleshy shape lies at the center. Many see it as a soft self-portrait. Three watches droop, and each shows a different time.
The coast resembles the shore near Portlligat in Catalonia, where Dali grew up. A year earlier he had developed his paranoiac-critical method. This recycled foldable tote puts that dream logic on your arm.
Care and Storage
This Dali tote bag uses recycled GREEN CIRCLE fabric that is water-resistant. Hand washing preserves the coating. Machine washing at 86 degrees F / 30 degrees C is fine in a washing bag.
When you are done, fold the melting clocks tote into its zippered pouch. Hang it by the handle or store it flat. Keep the surrealist art tote out of long, direct sun to protect the print. Wipe the recycled foldable tote with a damp cloth between washes.
Display the Dali tote bag on a hook when you are home. Gift the melting clocks tote to a friend who loves museums. Pick the surrealist art tote for your next gallery visit. The recycled foldable tote also makes a thoughtful present.
