From the foot of Cetatea Poenari in Romania, this specimen is a piece of Vlad Tepes III, Prince of Wallachia, and a member of the house of Drăculești's favorite haunt. This imposing cliffside castle was reconstructed by Vlad III in the 15th century, where it became a defensible stronghold for the rest of his reign.

Perched high upon a cliffside, Cetatea Poenari is an imposing fortress that was once the home of Vlad III Dracula, also known by his nickname: Vlad the Impaler.

This specimen is a fragment of the walls that built up this 15th-century castle. The material comes from a brick collected at the ruins of the foot of the outer wall. That makes this an authentic piece of history from one of the most iconic rulers of the Middle Ages—and the namesake of the most frightening characters in literary history.

Cetatea Poenari was one of the favorite haunts of Vlad Tepes III, Prince of Wallachia, and member of the house of Drăculești. Each fragment is hand-cut by our specimen technicians and measures roughly 1/2" in length.

Pieces come displayed in a cushioned gem jar. The jar is enclosed inside a classic, glass-topped riker display case that measures 4"x3"x1". A small information card is also enclosed.
