The Wrong Side of the Fence

Poor Tom woke up on the wrong side of the fence and met an angry bulldog. He knows the road to recovery will be long.

That is what he gets for getting into the catnip. This beat up cat with bandages statue tells the whole story in a glance.

Comedy of the Battered Body

Dubout liked to draw comic misfortune with affection. Bandages, a ribbon on the tail, and ear hair make this tomcat a character, not just a gag.

The cat with bandaged tail statue keeps the squashed posture of the drawing. Parastone's Mouseion 3D line adapts Dubout's sketches into sculpture.

A funny injured cat figurine like this one never feels cruel. Add it to our Dubout Cat Collection. Browse Animal Sculptures Collection or the wider Parastone Museum Replicas too.

Display and Care

At 7 oz, the Dubout poor tomcat figurine suits a shelf, desk, or windowsill. Dust it with a soft dry brush. Keep it away from damp air.

Albert Dubout in Brief

Dubout was born in Marseille in 1905 and studied at the fine arts school in Montpellier. His first drawings appeared in a student journal in 1923. He drew for Paris magazines such as Le Rire and illustrated Rabelais and Balzac. He also designed posters and theatre sets.

He received the Legion of Honour in 1953 and died in 1976. A museum in his name opened in Palavas-les-Flots in 1992. The Dubout poor tomcat figurine shows his comic touch.
