Small Set of Four Canopic Jars

Proof that, even in ancient Egypt, the careful organization of important matters was taken very seriously.

This small set of four canopic jars represents the guardians of the internal organs in ancient Egyptian burial tradition. Each jar is topped with the head of one of the protective deities associated with the Sons of Horus, who safeguarded the body for the journey into the afterlife. These deities were believed to protect specific organs of the deceased and were also linked symbolically to the four cardinal directions.

In ancient tombs, canopic jars were placed beside the sarcophagus and sealed to preserve the organs removed during mummification. The lids were carved in the form of divine heads, transforming practical vessels into sacred objects tied to protection, rebirth, and the hope of eternal life.

  • Set of four miniature canopic jars
  • Made from stone-like resin with multicolor and gold finish
  • Each measures 3.5 in H × 1.25 in diameter
  • Lids remove
  • Total weight for the set: 12 oz

Today, miniature versions of canopic jars are appreciated as historical replicas that reflect the symbolism and craftsmanship of ancient Egyptian funerary traditions.
