From the Kuwait Collection
The original belongs to the treasures of Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah in the Kuwait National Museum.
That collection was founded in 1980. It holds more than 20,000 items of Islamic art, from metalwork to manuscripts.
Granulation Explained
Granulation covers a surface with tiny spheres of metal, each fused in place. The craft goes back to Sumer and reached great skill among Etruscan and Greek goldsmiths.
Medieval Islamic goldsmiths used filigree and granulation on fine pieces. A double triangle bangle carries that tradition.
Wearing and Display
Wear the Islamic granulation bangle on its own. The hammered surface catches light. Wipe with a soft cloth.
