The Stoclet Frieze

Adolphe Stoclet commissioned a mansion in Brussels from architect Josef Hoffmann. Klimt decorated the dining room with a frieze made between 1909 and 1911.

The three part mosaic shows Expectation, Fulfillment, and a pattern. The Vienna Workshop used marble, gold leaf, silver, and semiprecious stones.

The Stoclet Frieze lovers are Fulfillment. Their Klimt Jugendstil lovers statue form keeps the flat, patterned look of the mosaic.

Why So Rigid?

The couple embraces behind a screen of Jugendstil ornament. Klimt turns love into a closed, golden world.

This Klimt embracing couple figurine pairs well with our Parastone Museum Replicas and Museum Statues Collection.

Display and Care

The small size, at 1.8 lbs, suits a shelf or desk. The large size, at 8.2 lbs, needs a firm table. Dust the Klimt Fulfillment lovers statue with a soft dry brush.
