The Permian Period - approximately 286 to 252 million years ago - marked the rise of the amniotes: egg-laying animals that came to dominate the surface of the Earth long before the dinosaurs. Among them was Captorhinus, a small reptile common in the Permian fossil deposits of Oklahoma. This authentic Permian bone jaw fossil is an incredible collection of jaw bone and teeth fossils dating to approximately 286 million years old, recovered from the Richards Spur Quarry near Lawton, Oklahoma. Each specimen contains six pieces of bone material from a small tetrapod of the Permian Period.

286 Million Years Before Today - The Dawn of the Age of Reptiles

This is not a cast. This is a genuine collection of authentic Permian Period fossil bones - real jaw and teeth fragments from the moment in Earth history when amniotes were establishing dominance over the land ecosystems that would eventually produce the dinosaurs. Presented in a glass-topped riker display case with certificate of authenticity.
