Roman SPQR Eagle Pencil Gold Topper with Veni Vidi Vici Pencil

This Roman Eagle pencil topper is made from lead-free pewter that is gold plated and is a 3D model of an eagle with the inscription SPQR below. It is supplied on a sharpened black wooden pencil with the inscription "VENI VIDI VICI 'I came, I saw, I Conquered', Julius Caesar." printed on it in silver. The topper is attached to the pencil so there is no eraser underneath.

Information: The Roman army would carry standards (signum) and emblems of each legion. Standards were decorated with eagles, laurel wreaths, astrological birth signs and banners. The standards often had inscriptions on them including SPQR (Senatus Populusque Romanus), meaning 'The Senate and people of Rome', which was the mark of the Roman Empire. They were symbols of the honour and bravery of the legion and were to be protected at all costs. Veni, vidi, vici ("I came, I saw, I conquered") is a Latin phrase used to refer to a swift, conclusive victory. The phrase is attributed to Julius Caesar who used it in a letter to the Roman Senate around 47 BC after he had achieved a quick victory in his short war against Pharnaces II of Pontus.
