Eucalyptus from Australia

Most eucalyptus species are native to Australia, and the oil is distilled from the leaves. In 1788 two First Fleet surgeons distilled eucalyptus oil near Port Jackson. Later, Spain and Portugal became major producers.

Sage in Rome and the Cloister

The Romans called sage the holy herb and used it in religious rituals. Charlemagne recommended growing it in the early Middle Ages. In the 9th century, Walafrid Strabo described it in his poem Hortulus.

Using and Storing Your Oil

Add a few drops of this sage eucalyptus fragrance oil to your own base. A spa fragrance oil like this suits a bathroom shelf. A clean herb scent also pairs well with citrus. Browse more scents in the Fragrance Oils collection or the full Museumize fragrance collection. Keep the cap tight and store the bottle upright, away from heat and direct sun.

Sage came from Mediterranean gardens, and eucalyptus from Australian forests. A herbal eucalyptus scent joins the two. Many keep a spa fragrance oil beside fresh towels. A clean herb scent feels tidy and calm.
