Sobek, the Crocodile God

Sebek, also spelled Sobek, was a crocodile god of ancient Egypt. Greek writers called him Suchos.

His chief sanctuary in the Fayyum kept a live crocodile believed to be his incarnation. In the Middle Kingdom he became a patron of kings.
