The Window at Saint-Paul-de-Mausole
Van Gogh painted The Starry Night in June 1889. That May he had entered the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum at Saint-Remy-de-Provence. From his barred window, which faced east, he studied the sky before sunrise.
He wrote to his brother Theo about the morning star. Researchers note that Venus shone brightly that month. The Starry Night fanny pack carries that dawn watch wherever you go.
Why the Sky Seems to Move
The painter built the sky from long, curling strokes of paint. Each star swells into a ring of light, so the heavens read like moving water.
Van Gogh later told the painter Emile Bernard that he had again made the stars too large. The Museum of Modern Art in New York bought the canvas in 1941. This recycled art fanny pack keeps that restless energy within reach.
Care and Storage
This Starry Night fanny pack uses recycled GREEN CIRCLE fabric that is water-resistant. Hand washing preserves the coating. Machine washing at 86 degrees F / 30 degrees C is fine in a washing bag.
When you are done, fold the Van Gogh belt bag into its zippered pouch. Hang it by the handle or store it flat. Keep the Starry Night crossbody bag out of long, direct sun to protect the print. Wipe the recycled art fanny pack with a damp cloth between washes.
Display the Starry Night fanny pack on a hook when you are home. Gift the Van Gogh belt bag to a friend who loves museums. Pick the Starry Night crossbody bag for your next gallery visit. The recycled art fanny pack also makes a thoughtful present.
