In Norse mythology, Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor, was the weapon that guarded gods and people alike against the forces of chaos. In the Viking Age, small hammer amulets were worn as protective charms, a sign of how deeply the symbol was woven into daily life. This table lamp reinterprets that emblem as a piece of domestic light. The hammer stands upright as the lamp's base, its head and handle covered in interlaced knotwork in the tradition of early medieval Insular and Norse ornament, where endless, unbroken lines suggest continuity and protection.
The square base repeats the braided border and is set with four bronze-toned medallions bearing symbols from Norse tradition, including the Valknut and the Vegvisir. An aged silver-gray finish gives the resin the look of forged iron, while the black fabric shade casts a soft, warm glow. It will suit a study, a reading corner, or a collector's shelf of Viking-inspired decor.
