Tiffany Spring Four Seasons with Base Stained Glass 9.4H -
Louis Comfort Tiffany's (1848-1933) name became synonymous with fine glass making and stained glass in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and his original designs are highly sought by collectors. Tiffany originated a type of glass work known as Favrile with fused colors. Some of his most collectible pieces are stained glass panels and lamps.
This Tiffany Spring Season Reproduction Panel illustrates the vibrant hues of flowers and foliage associated with Spring. Originally created for the Exposition Universelle held in Paris in 1900, Tiffany designed a series of four stained glass panels for each of the seasons: Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring. Each design has a vision of flowers and foliage from that season framed by a ring of round pearl-like beads. The design expands out from the center with more organic patterns and foliage. The name of the season appears either at the top or the bottom of the pearl-bead ring. As a viewer, we feel like we have a special, timeless view through a window in a window...into the beauty of that season.
Tiffany Spring Season Stained Glass is made from kiln-fired stained glass that will not fade, set in a wood frame with a wood stand and optional hanging chain. Wood base is detachable. Glass can be set on a desktop or hung on a wall near a light source.
Glass measures: 9.4 in H x 8.25 in W. Base measures: 8.4 in L x 2.6 in W x 0.6 in H. PN T83120
