Before humans dominated the Earth, the vast tundra steppe of Eurasia was home to the Woolly Rhinoceros - a massive, shaggy-coated animal with humped shoulders to carry its heavy head and a titanic nasal horn that made it one of the most striking megafauna of the Pleistocene ice ages. This authentic Woolly Rhinoceros bone fossil was recovered from the North Sea - an area that was once a tundra connecting the British Isles to continental Europe before sea levels rose approximately 8,000 years ago and flooded the ancient Doggerland landscape.
From the Sunken Tundra of Ancient Europe
This is not a cast. This is a genuine fossilized Woolly Rhinoceros bone fragment recovered from the North Sea - where fishing trawlers regularly bring up Ice Age megafauna remains from the submerged Doggerland landscape. The fossil is set into a padded gem jar and presented in a glass-topped riker display case measuring 4.5 in x 3.5 in with a small photo display card also serving as the certificate of authenticity.
